For use as a general soil builder. Use Suståne Concentrated Compost to improve garden soils, potting mixes, raised bed media, and to rebuild depleted soils. This product is allowed for use in the production of certified organic fruits and vegetables.

Suståne Concentrated Compost

Intended as a general soil builder for broadcast application and improving soil organic matter levels, cation exchange capacity and enhancing and diversifying soil biological activity levels.

Uses and Application Rates | 1 cup = 0.3 lb.

Garden and Landscape Soil Preparation

  • Light, High Sandy Soil: 14 lb. per 100 ft2 of bed (70 kg per 100 m2)
  • Medium, Clay Loam Soil 10 lb. per 100 ft2 of bed (50 kg per 100 m2)
  •  Heavy, Silty, Clay Loam 7 lb. per 100 ft2 of bed (35 kg per 100 m2

Application Timing: Apply at the beginning of the growing season or once every three months. For best results, use in combination with other Suståne Plant Foods and Compost Tea. For best results, water after application.  Application rates vary based on soil conditions, plant species and desired rate of growth.  It is recommended to have soil tested prior to applying any fertilizers.

New Garden Bed Preparation:  Apply 2 cups of Suståne for every 10 ft2 of bed space or 6 lb. per 100 ft2  (2.8 kg per 9.3 m2). Incorporate into the top 4 inches (10 cm) of soil.

Individual Plants:   Apply ½ cup (68 grams per plant) of Suståne into the hole prior to planting transplants or around the base of the plant for established plants. Application rates for specific plants are available at www.sustane.com.

Soil Mixes & Potted Plants:  Incorporate Suståne into the potting mix at a rate of 4 cups per cubic foot of mix (19.2 grams per liter).

Raised Beds:  For new beds, incorporate Suståne into the raised bed soil media at a rate of 4 cups per cubic foot of mix (19.2 grams per liter). For amending existing beds, incorporate 2 cups per 10 ft2 into the top 2 to 4 inches (5-10 cm) of soil.
